RIVER JOURNEY

I paddled naked down this gentle stream
Drifted lazily, lost in dream
Away from the city, its bustling trends
Just me, my boat, and two faster friends
Alone, no houses, no roads, no people, not a car
Places to hike to where you could see real far
Lassen and Shasta all covered in snow
Lunch and a nap, then ready to go
You're free on a river, they can't be bought
Though some think so, and battles are fought
To keep them clean and forever flowing
So folks like me will continue knowing
The pleasure of boating on water downhill
Harmony with nature, it's the finest thrill.
