BEACON HILL LIGHT

Beacon Hill, Florida

This is the light stand that replaced the St. Joseph Bay Lighthouse, which has become a private residence and relocated down near Cape San Blas, but I missed seeing it. This skeleton tower was erected in 1960 and places the optic 78 feet above sea level. It was about as attractive as the tower that replaced Dice Head Light in Castine, Maine. A lot easier to get to. As you drive north up the main road, yep still Hwy 98, it's right there beside the road to your right.
